We often hear from our customers that they would like to try Kyoto cuisine.
Frankly speaking, Kyoto cuisine is delicious and very sophisticated. In my opinion, the taste is highly affected by the landscape and culture of Kyoto.
For example, Kyoto is a field embraced by mountains from three directions, having a large temperature difference between day and night. Besides, the transition of four seasons are extremely clear. As for water, I've heard that there is a massive underground lake beneath the town. Water supply must be very sufficient.
Having been a capital of Japan for a thousand years, ceremonies and events by the imperial court, samurai clans, and monks storngly affected the food in Kyoto.
My favorites are TOFU (soybean curd), YUBA (TOFU skin), and NAMAFU (steamed wheat gluten). They are really colorful and pleasing to the eye, and of course taste very good!
Please wear YUMEYAKATA's beautiful KIMONO and enjoy Kyoto cuisine. Please try to taste it using your five senses.
