Warm Items for KIMONO

In the cold weather of this season, you might think it can be cold wearing KIMONO only. Well, I know what you mean. For Western clothes there are coats or Jackets, but what about KIMONO?

In fact, KIMONO style has outer items such as jackets, however, shawls and stoles can do if it's for a casual occasion. Or even a knitwear can be pretty if it is wide enough.

Speaking of outerwear, we wear HAORI coat on KIMONO and there are certain trends. As I remember, my mother used to wear short ones, whereas people nowadays prefer long ones. It's exactly like the trend before the world war 2nd. It looks like everybody loves retrospective fashion lately.

On the other hand, capes and ponchos for Western clothes are also useful for KIMONO style. Wrapped in these items, you will feel warm and comfortable with your both hands free.

As for manners, entering the room with your HAORI coat on does not break the rules of courtesy, however, the shawl or stole has to be taken off before you enter the room.

Weather forecast says it's going to be colder than usual. Please try those items and enjoy your Kyoto walk. Be Warm!
