At this season every year, Heian Jingu Shrine (平安神宮) is crowded with many visitors enjoying the view of red Shidare-zakura (枝垂れ桜, weeping cherry blossom). The shrine is adorned with vivid vermilion lacquer and is filled with graceful atmosphere with 250 cherry tree on the premises.
The blue sky, and the magnificent shrine in vermilion...I enjoyed a lot. In order to conclude my afternoon delight, I had Macha (抹茶, powdered green tea) soft ice cream available at Heian Saryo (平安茶寮) cafe nearby. What a lovely way to spend an afternoon.
